Colorado Springs, CO, 13 March 2014 – X-IO Technologies has extended its award-winning series of storage solutions with the general availability of the Intelligent Storage Element (ISE) 740 hybrid storage system and the ISE 240 performance storage system.

The addition of the ISE 740 hybrid storage system to its 700 Series means that X-IO now offers its customers a family of Tier 0 and Tier 1 ultra-high performance storage arrays providing up to 28.8 TB of usable capacity and up to 300,000 IOPS.  To deliver this performance the ISE 740’s 3U package uses a combination of enterprise-grade flash drives and, mission critical, high-performance HDDs.


The ISE 700 series, including the new ISE 740, are all managed by X-IO’s patented, intelligent Continuous Adaptive Data Placement (CADP) engine. The 700 series is designed for workload intensive applications that require cost effective superior performance. By using enterprise class SSDs and HDDs as a single pool of storage, it creates the ideal balance of price, performance and capacity versus the traditional storage systems that can be up to ten times more expensive.

The ISE 240 performance system, meanwhile, extends X-IO’s 200 Series of Tier 1 and 2 all-HDD storage array to 38.4 TB of usable capacity and up to 13,500 IOPS, using enterprise-grade, high performance HDDs. The 200 Series is ideally suited for server and desktop virtualization, cloud computing, and other applications with multi-tenant workloads, providing a simple and efficient way to rapidly deliver critical information across an enterprise.

Each ISE storage system is a completely self-contained storage building block designed to accelerate server and desktop virtualization solutions, as well as transactional, reporting and business intelligence applications by a factor of three or more. ISE storage systems are designed to scale so that full storage performance is maintained no matter how many ISE systems are added to increase capacity.

X-IO launched its ‘Happy Fifth Anniversary’ customer program recently to celebrate and promote valued customers that have successfully utilized its ISE solutions for five years or more without a single visit from a service engineer or ever having to replace a disk drive.
