ISE Storage Systems

The ISE storage system is an easy to use, high performance fibre channel storage system supporting SAS HDDs. ISE storage provides Enterprise-class reliability with self-healing capabilities. ISE storage systems are an excellent solution for Citrix Xen, VMware vSphere, Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V, Exchange Server 2010, SQL Server 2008 R2, Sharepoint Server 2010, and Oracle.

  • High performance SAS HDD FC-SAN storage system
  • Fast Forever architecture supporting high performance of its entire lifecycle
  • Fully active-active controllers
  • Linearly scalable performance and capacity
  • Self-healing storage with head-level sparing and full internal telemetry
  • Optimized for any workloads including mixed environments
  • Cloud-based management interface
  • Lowest power consumption in the industry - power consumption 700 Watts
  • Low TCO with Zero-Touch maintenance and the only 5-Year hardware warranty

X-Volume

XIO customers can aggregate multiple ISE storage systems creating a massively scalable grid. X-Volume provides near linear scalability. The performance of ISE continues to scale beyond a single system. X-Volume can enable multiple ISE storage systems to achieve hundreds of thousands of IOPS and beyond.

ISE Storage System Specifications

ISE Configuration
Storage System Raw capacity RAID type Capacity (GB)1
ISE 28.8 28.8TB ISE RAID-10
ISE RAID-5
13,054
20,888
ISE 14.4H 14.4TB ISE RAID-10
ISE RAID-5

1End-user capacity is in GB, where 1GB = 1024MiB; 1MiB = 1024KiB; 1KiB = 1024B. This is the same number as will be displayed in disk management software (Disk Manager on Windows, fdisk or similar on Unix) rather than the number quoted by other vendors who use 1GB = 1000MB etc. It is also after sparing, metadata and RAID.

ISE Highlights
RAID Levels ISE RAID 5, ISE RAID 10
Host Interfaces Eight Fibre Channel 8 Gb Interfaces; direct or switch-attached
Server Connections (max) 128
Storage Volumes (max) 240
Cache 8GB Mirrored Total (4GB per Controller) - Super Capacitors De-Stage Cache to NVRAM in the event of a power failure. This allows cache to be safe for an indefinite amount of time until power can be restored.
Operating Systems Support* AIX, Mac OS, RHEL, SLES, Solaris, Windows Server 2003 & 2008
Hypervisors* Citrix XenServer, VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V
Hot-Swap Components Managed Reliability Controllers, DataPacs, Power Supplies, cooling fans, Super Capacitors
Management Web UI, ISE Manager, VMware Virtual Center Plug-In, ISE Analyzer, RESTful API
Energy Efficiency PowerNAP - Wake on LAN
