The Only True SHD Storage System
Hyper ISE is the only True SHD storage system that fuses SSD and HDD as single pool of storage, creating the ideal balance of price/performance and capacity. Leveraging our patented Continuous Adaptive Data Placement (CADP) software, which analyzes the behavior of application I/O and places hotspot data onto SSD only if measurable performance gains will be achieved. Otherwise, CADP will keep the data on lower-cost HDD, ensuring the more expensive SSD resources are fully optimized and available for more performance-driven data. This is a fundamental advantage of True SHD: it provides the greatest levels of application performance with the most efficient use of storage resources.
Many of our customers are using Hyper ISE for database applications because it cost-effectively provides high performance for transactions, queries, analytics and reporting. VDI is another major use case: Hyper ISE can support thousands of virtual desktops with optimal performance and capacity. Additionally, Hyper ISE breaks the performance bottleneck often found in the virtual data center, resulting in far greater consolidation ratios of virtual- to-physical servers.
The Hyper ISE storage system was designed for performance. Most vendors provide you performance information based on “best-case-scenario.” However, their performance degrades as they reach high levels of capacity utilization; during RAID rebuilds, performing data movement, mirroring or when they have any drive issues. Hyper ISE has been architected to minimize any performance degradation that is felt by the users or applications during any or all of these conditions occurring. Hyper ISE is fast forever.
Through a combination of design and process, the Hyper ISE’s canister-based approach to storage eliminates the most common causes of premature hard drive failure, significantly decreasing failure rates even as the number of disk drives in use increases.
Using many of the same techniques leveraged for hard drives, with a few new additions, the Hyper ISE also eliminates the reliability issues found in solid state drives.
